October/November Update

Here is a few shots of Us and what we have been up to. All is well and the weather has turned cold. Enjoy.

Here is pics of Bryan and Kendal at the Air Museum

Kendal loved playing in this Snow Man poo as she called it. I know what I am going to get her for Christmas!

Baby 2 20wk Scans

Here are the 20 week scan pictures of Little Dusek #2. Sorry they are so bad. The ultrasound lady just haphazzardly took a few shots. We were a bit disappointed. Oh well, the baby is healthy and a wiggler. That is the most important. Can't beleive we are half way.
Praise be to God. He is good.

How we are

We are all well and plugging along. Weather is turning colder and the leaves are changing. Love this time of the year. Kendal is loving school and now stays for lunches and totally loves it. I don't know why I didn't think of it in the beginning. She sure us much happier when I pick her up on a full tummy.

I am doing good with the pregnancy. Was feeling a bit rough for a week or so, so I went to Dr. He took bloods, and then told me the results were good except I need to eat. I haven't gained any weight since I got pregnant and wonder how on earth I haven't since I have a good sized bump. Anyways more proteins and good calories. That was a relief. We have our 20 week scan next week. So two weeks away. I am looking forward to seeing the little one again. I am really feeling the movements now and it can sure be active. We are excited for this one. Kendal is too. She keeps saying, "Mommy I want my baby out of your tummy." She has also set some of her old things aside and says they are for the baby. So cute. Hope she keeps it up.

Bryan has been working a hour away. He is helping a project in Boeing. He commutes some days but finds that some nights he works late so he gets a hotel for a night or two. This is his last week and he is counting down the days. Will be nice to have him home regularly again.

The Turkey's are growing like mad. They are so big. Looking forward to our Thanksgiving meal with some friends. Bryan is thinking about the killing and how he would like to do it. I am just going to cook them once they are plucked and gutted. Not getting involved with that. Well that is just a quick update on our side.

Autumn Harvest Time

We thought our pumpkins were big enough (unlike our butternut squash) so we harvested them this weekend. Not sure what we are going to do with all this pumpkin! We will just have to have lots of pumpkin pies I guess.

Thanksgiving Treats

We added some new additions to the farm about three weeks ago. They are growing fast. We have 5 white and 3 bronze Turkeys. Four of them we are keeping for friends and we have four. Looking forward to some fresh free range turkey for Thanksgiving this year!

Canoe Trip

Here we are on our first family canoe trip since we bought the thing this year. There are elaborate canal systems here in England and they are great for canoeing and canal boats. Kendal loved it and loved hanging over the edge and putting her hands in the water. Bryan and I learned about communication and coordination. It was fun. We maneuvered to where we wanted to go.

Here is Bryan pretending to have had too much. We canoed to a pub and had a drink. England is great for having a pub everywhere.

Princess Dress up

Here is Kendal in her princess dress that she got for her birthday. Thanks Mom and Sis. She loves it. Every time we play dress up I have to be the fairy. She always wants to wear the princess dress. Probably better that way as I don't think I would fit in the dress anyways.

Birthday and a few September tidbits.

We had a wonderful birthday party for Kendal. Few of her friends came and they had a good time. The Cake, if you didn't see it on Facebook, was fun to make. I had the cake completed and just needed to put the barbie on. I took it out of the package and realized that she didn't bend and I didn't know how I was going to get her on the cake. So we laughed a lot and had a lot of fun and finally came up the the backstroke. It was a great tasting cake and it was all from scratch. Enjoy the pictures and videos. The last one is of Kendal Dancing. So cute. She loves to dance when I put the music on.

Quick School Uniform Photo

Here is Kendal in her school uniform. She is so cute. She had a great first day of school. She was so excited and was also exhausted after only going for a 1/2 day. She had woken up at 5:50am that morning. She is attending three mornings a week.

Kendal and the neighbor children, Kate and James before school

Kendal saying cheese. Think we will work on the cheesey smile.

Time Flies

Wow here it is Sept and I haven't even updated for two months. Ok Here we go:
July: We didn't travel anywhere because we were working on our residency stuff, basically so we can stay here and work for as long as we want without a visa. Not citizenship that is something different. This required sending our passports in and taking a test. We both passed and they still have our passports. Hope we get them so we can go somewhere next month. Itching to travel. As we stayed close to home we visited Chesil Beach and spent some quality time with friends. Kendal also smashed her fingers in the front door. OUCH!

August: Was a fun month. We took to harvesting more of our veggies. Sweetcorn, onions, some potatoes, tomatoes, beets (beetroot- UK translation), carrots and cucumbers and zuccini(courgettes - UK translation). We have taken to learning how to can and have made some seasonal chutney, and Claussen style pickles. Which are fabulous. Kendal eats them 3 or 4 at a time. I am also learning how to be creative with these veggies as there are lots and we don't want them to go to waste.

The weather was warmer at the beginning of August and Kendal, Daddy and I spent more time out in the garden and sunshine. This led to going down to some good friends Caravan (Trailer- US translation) by the beach in Weymouth and hung out for the day.

Kendal helping me pass the time while daddy took his residency test. She is funny with chewing gum.

Bryan harvesting all the onions since we had so much rain. They were beginning to mold.

One of the many huge pumpkins out in the garden. Might need a crane to lift one of them.

This is us!

Here is a quick update to what Kendal and I have been doing all week. Been a warm one so far. Enjoy.

10 Year Anniversary

Yes that is right. Our 10 year anniversary. It has gone by so fast. We had a great get away to the island of Guernsey. It is one of the Channel islands and is located between England and France in the Channel. We had such a lovely time. Kendal stayed with some great friends of ours while we had 3 nights away to ourselves. Here are a few pics of our adventure. Wish I took more.

Here we are on a costal hike. Beautiful views. Here we are in our infamous pose.

Good shot of Bryan doing what he loves. His new hobbie.

Her we are just before our 7 course meal at a fancy restaurant called Christophe's.

Me enjoying the first course. Lovely. All was good at the end since a new glass of wine was served with each course. Needless to say after the first course we were enjoying ourselves so much we forgot to take anymore pictures of the food. But it sure was good.

Before we ventured home we stopped at the German Occupation Museum. During WWII the Germans occupied this island for 5 years. They cut off all communication to the outside world during the war. It was a peaceful occupation, but there were still things that went on. Very eye opening and enlightening. Great end to a great time.

Quick Visit

We got to visit some good friends of Kendal and Mine one day. It was such a quick visit but a lovely one. Kendal and Lucas are only 1 day apart and his mom and I met in hospital before they were born. They have a very special place in our hearts. Miss you guys.

Kendal and Lucas.

Wonderful Visit

Now where do I begin? I can only say we had the most wonderful visit from our dear friends the Gidley's. It was so nice to spend 2 1/2 weeks together. They were such a blessing to us. Thanks Gidley's for putting up with us. Here are some pictures I took. Bryan has loads more. We will have to add some as he gets time to download them for me.

We did get a trip to the beach before we ventured off to London. This is our way of applying sunscreen to our children!

Here are the girls waiting for the train we took to London. It was their first time on a train!

We visited the National History Museum. Here is Kendal the explorer. Watch out Dora!

This is Jim recovering from our 4 day trip to London. Well this was Jim most anytime he was in a moving vehicle. More espresso Jim!

Our lovely English visit to Dunster Castle. See us in our rain garb. Typical English weather. It was fun though. Nothing like splashing in the puddles in your wellie boots.
